All Paintings painted by Johannes Vermeer

Overall, Vermeer left us not more than 37 paintings. This is a very low average of 2 – 3 paintings per year of his career. During the 19th century however, much over 60 paintings were attributed to Johannes Vermeer, but further examination revealed a different origin. The most spectacular case of art forgery in connection to Vermeer was the Trial of Han van Meegeren.
